Thank you for visiting our website. Smits Farms is a family-owned and operated business, proudly rooted in faith, tradition and growth. Founded in 1990 by Carl and Deb Smits, what began as a single greenhouse and a family of two has flourished into fifteen greenhouses and a growing family of sixteen. With God's blessing, we look forward to continued growth in the years ahead.
We’re delighted to offer you high-quality bedding plants, perennials, and a wide selection of fresh herbs, vegetables, and greens. You can visit us at our main location on Sauk Trail, at our second farmstand at Steger and Route 394, or find us at one of the many farmers markets we attend throughout the city of Chicago.

As of August 2009, Smits Farms became Food Alliance Certified! Food Alliance is a nonprofit organization that certifies that farms, ranches and food handlers are producing and processing food in a sustainable and safe way.

From the North (Chicago):
Take I-94 south to exit I-394 S (Danville). Continue on I-394 to Sauk Trail. Exit
east on Sauk Trail. Contiune on Sauk Trail for 2.2 miles. Smits Farms will be on the left.
From the East (Indiana):
Take US 30 west to the light at Sauk Trail. Turn left at the light on Sauk Trail, Smits Farms will be on the right.
